Anonymous asked: Will there be an expo in 2013? If yes, what are the dates?

There will be an expo in 2013! We haven’t set a date to PRX 2013 yet, though. Check back sometime in the 2012-2013 school year for an official date!

There is an area typically used for eating that you can sit in when you’re getting tired.

Anonymous asked: are walk-in's welcome

Yes, walk-ins are welcome, though participating in either basic or intermediate workshops is unlikely, as they are at capacity.

The Expo is only a weekend away! We are expecting around 1000 attendees, including walk-ins. With a large venue filled with so many people, we know it may get difficult to keep track of what’s going on, when, and where—so we’ve provided a poster of the schedule for the Expo (with room numbers) and a directory! Room numbers are not labeled on the directory, but there will be staff everywhere to direct visitors to their desired destinations. Both the schedule and directory are subject to change, but very little!

All visitors may view large posters of both the schedule and the directory by the Information/Registration desk. Feel free to print these out if you’d like to!

See everyone Monday!

Anonymous asked: If registration is now closed, does that mean the event is "sold out" and no walk-ins will be allowed?

Walk-ins are allowed, though there most likely won’t be any space in the workshops.

750!!

Twelve days left before the Expo! Who’s excited?! We know we are! We’ve received a tremendous response to this year’s expo, with over 750 people registered to attend! And these are just registered attendees. Imagine how many people will be walking in and out of the doors of the Drexel Bossone Center throughout the day!

Anyway, we figured that at least a few of our attendees are curious as to what their day will look like at the Expo—so we’ve added a few details to our schedule. The updated schedule is available to everyone on our Schedule page! Check it out!

For the latest updates about PRX, be sure to follow us! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to drop one in our ask box! See you all in less than two weeks!

Anonymous asked: We are interested in bringing our 94 5th graders to this expo. Is this doable??

Totally! Just register as an attendee (the link’s on the page!) so we know what to expect in terms of attendees. Thanks!

The Philly Robotics Expo has finally found a speaker.  Drawing from the University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious GRASP (General Robotics, Automation, Sensing, Perception) robotics program, we have invited Associate Professor Daniel D. Lee to speak the this year’s expo.  In his free time, Professor Lee is the head of the UPennaliziers, UPenn’s robotic soccer team.  With his legacy of work in the field of robotics, we know that Professor Lee will offer pertinent insights into the world of STEM in his presentation.

Thank you to Professor Lee and the University of Pennsylvania for allowing us this opportunity to learn from one of today’s leading minds in robotics research.

Anonymous asked: Is there a registration fee?

Nope! This event is free to the public! We only ask that you register as an attendee so we can estimate the number of people we should expect.
